The component and assembly distributor TRS-STAR GmbH from Stutensee added the new mini-ITX motherboard EMX-C246P from Avalue Technology Inc. to its product portfolio. Equipped with the Intel C246 chipset, the board not only supports Intel^® Core ™ i7 / i5 / i3, Pentium and Celeron^® processors of the 8th and 9th generation, but also Intel Xeon E-2200/2100 processors. This ensures an enormous scalability of the computing power, which makes it interesting for a wide range of applications.

With the help of 2x HDMI, 1x VGA and 1x dual-channel 18/24-bit LVDS connections (eDP BOM option), up to three displays can be operated independently of each other. Via the HDMI connections resolutions of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 30 Hz and over VGA up to 2,048 x 1,536 pixels at 60 Hz are possible.

Two 260-pin 2400/2666 MHz SO-DIMM sockets allow for a RAM expansion of up to 32 GB. In addition, the board also supports ECC Memory. The functionality of the mainboard is complemented by a powerful interface. Thus Avalue offers its buyers 4 x SATA III, 4 x Gigabit LAN, 4 x RS232, 2x RS232 / 422/485 besides 10 x USB - thereof 8 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0. In addition, the EMX-C246P mini-ITX board has a PCIe x16 interface, a 16-bit GPIO, and 2 x M.2 slots - once for each type of M- and E-Key - allowing to install a WiFi card (2230) as well as an M.2 SSD in the form factors 2242/2260/2280.

This motherboard was designed for use in the Industrial / Embedded segment. Therefore the temperature range is specified from 0°C to +60°C. The board is particularly suitable for use in machine vision applications and in automation and control systems. Compatible with Intel Xeon E processors, ECC memory, and RAID 0/1/5/10 support, it is also ideal as a workstation, for network devices, storage solutions, server, and edge-server.
