It’s time to break from tradition. In the past, bit boundaries have defined MCU price and performance solutions – 8-bit for low-end, easy-to-use applications and 32-bit for the high-end, performance-driven market. As 8-bit users reach their performance ceiling and need to move to a more powerful architecture, the increased complexities of 32-bit software, peripherals and developments tools could significantly hinder new product development and time-to-market.
TRS-STAR serves as the “gateway” to the 32-bit MCU / CPU world of Freescale Semiconductor. It is our mission to demonstrate the superiority of 32-bit designs. Even when an 8-bit MCU may suffice, it is likely advantageous to choose a “low-cost” 32-bit MCU.
